How stable is Twilio?

Were there any layoffs (in the past)? Also, I heard that Twilio is renting space from wework in Dublin. Why not have it’s own building? This gives me an impression that it can anytime shutdown the office and fire all employees in Dublin. Maybe I am wrong but this is just a thought. Some insight into Twilio would be helpful.

It sucks. Can crumble anytime

Why do you say so? Were there any significant layoffs or some offices shut down?

If you have the answer, why ask

Stock is doing well

Yes, I had a look earlier. It’s good. Moreover, I couldn’t find any competitors of Twilio making as much money as it is.

Haven't had any layoff that I know of. Nothing in my tenor and I don't know of any prior. Dublin office is growing at rapid pace and we are running out of real estate to put people in. Same story in SF and MTV offices. Growing at a speed where it is always a scramble to find space for people.

+1. I’m at 4 years never any layoffs or anywhere close. Would be surprised if that became a thing, we’re cash flow positive and investing heavily in growth. Lack of space is becoming a problem for sure. We did the 3rd largest real estate deal in SF last year and still don’t have enough space

Good to know. Any plans for Dublin office to go out from wework and into its own building? Also, how many employees are there in the Dublin office?

I think if you want to work here that is a very immature concern to have.

Verizon Media trva12 OP Jun 21, 2019

Yes, I agree that this may sound immature but just think a company is doing great, great brand, making good money then why doesn’t it have a building with its big logo on it. I would personally feel proud seeing my company logo in the building rather than wework’s logo. Moreover, many other companies have recently opened businesses here and they all have their own offices with proper branding etc then why not Twilio. I know this maybe different for different people but this is just my view. And just that you know, this obviously won’t stop me from accepting the offer, provided it’s a decent one :)

Honestly, twilio is frugal and not flashy. We are growing extremely fast (hired a LOT OF people this year) and our revenue has been growing 80% YoY (and the rate is INCREASING over the past few earnings reports). Oh and we are actually profitable too. I remember when Twilio's private valuation was 1B and Lyfts was like 30... Now compare where the two are on the public markets. If you want flashy, if you care about things about a logo on a building, this is not the place for you - go to a flashy consumer brand with a big logo on a building. If you want to be a part of rapidly growing company that is in the center of communications globally, work hard, and see it grow - it's the place to be. Seriously, who cares about what logo is on a building?

Anecdotal, but I know tons of big (and small) companies that rely on Twilio in major ways, and can't think of any real competition with the same scope of offerings. I wouldn't be concerned about stability, really don't think they're going anywhere
