How technical are SDM interviews?

Wanting to test my acumen by getting acceptance for a L5+ SDM at a FAANGM. Engineering YOE 8 Management YOE 4 Background: High profile startups, and non-fang but big tech consulting. Had a cold email offer for SDE from Netflix due to high up friend referral, also got to round 4 of Google (SDE) years ago but gave a friendly pass to work on a friend’s startup. I haven’t Leetcoded in years (actually never- used to do HackerRank), but last weekend I went at it and got all mediums mostly optimized, and a few hards but not optimized. I’ve been consulting with CTOs and building teams for a few years now at big name startups so I’m optimistic on the behavioral management questions and the deconstructive problem solving attitude. Should I optimize those LC Hards or just prepare a cool head for philosophy of leadership stuff?

As far as I know, for Engineering Manager, FAANG have manager specific coding interviews, and the difficulty is between leetcode easy to medium, and you don't have to be bug free in one shot or worry too much about syntax. Hope this post helps: https://www.rooftopslushie.com/request/Facebook%20EMEngineering%20Manager%20Onsite%20Interview-109?utm_source=share&utm_medium=link

Amazon is easy, microsoft depends on teams - some don’t even ask for coding , apple also varies , but most teams don’t ask. Facebook definitely asks and it’s medium complexity. Not sure of G or N - never tried .

What is a "cold email offer"? Never heard of such at Netflix let alone any company. One has to interview.

It was an offer to join a team my friend referred me to. It included a vague compensation offer, but it was dependent on an accelerated interview process.
