I posted this in my company’s channel, but I’m curious about the broader Blind user base. For software engineers: In your opinion, how technically skilled is your manager? Not skilled at all = knows nothing about programming, software, architecture, system design, trade-offs, databases, etc. Probably never wrote a single line of code in their life. Highly skilled = demonstrates strong knowledge of software development and design. You can tell that they were an impactful engineer back when they were an individual contributor. #Facebook #Meta #Apple #Amazon #Netflix #Google #Stripe #Snap #Palantir #Roblox #Indeed #Uber #Lyft #Microsoft #PayPal #Oracle #Datadog #Instacart
Stupid poll.
lol
My current manager was an individual contributer on my team. We both have the same title, but she has 10+ years of experience more than me. I turned down the position as I didn't want to be a scrum master and manager. She helps our team sometimes with technical tasks and we are grateful she can help out. Our roles could have been reversed easily (I'm the technical lead).

You know managers with mediocre tech skills on blind are obviously going to rate themselves as “highly skilled” on this poll right
No, in that case the line managers would be rating their M2’s and so on.
