I’m interested in a couple of jobs and don’t know how to apply for them internally. Is there a function or do I apply through the careers website? #jobopening
PATH <GO>
I'm interested in London based roles, is Bloomberg considering international candidates?
Are you in London? If so there is a massive London office.
Bloomberg is open to hiring international candidates and help with visas. Apply away!
According to an email from BBG Engineering on 2/14/22 - select "I am open to opportunities" on LEAP<Go>. This auto-generates an email to the internal mobility team, who will reach out to have a confidential exploratory conversation. Good luck!
This does work, but know that the internal mobility recruitment team is relatively small. We have 6000 engineers, even if 1% wanted to move, that will be 60 people they would need to meet/greet and understand what the person wants, what jobs are available, match up etc. In addition to doing the above, see also the next answer from Peetapiper on reaching out yourself.
Go to LEAP<GO>. If you like a job, IB the TL of the team.
^This i think is the best. While our recruitment team are good, they are not technologists, they will not be able to make a perfect fit for you. So while you wait for the recruitment team to get back to you, you should 💯 look through the roles yourself. Read the descriptions, do some shortlisting, check out the future teams git repo, checkout their DRQS buckets for volume of tickets, their oncl, APPT for few team members to see how much and what kind of meetings they have, shoot an email or IB to the future TL asking a few questions about the role, what you are interested in. Only "you" can dedicate that time to find something that's best for "you". Unlike joining an entirely new company, you can take advantage of all of the above when moving internally. Also another analogy, "if you use Instacart you end up getting only what you ordered. But when you go shopping, you may actually discover something you never knew was on the market, something that you didn't even know you would like". 😉
@Op I'm hiring, in an infra team, NYC. DM if you are interested.
Use PATH to find some cool team descriptions. Prepare a 2-3 sentence elevator pitch on how you are awesome. MSG TLs/managers listed on the job description with the pitch. Suggest a 30 min chat if interest is mutual. Come prepared with why you want to switch and what you are looking for. Let them sell the team to you. Give them closure if not interested. Otherwise continue the ‘interview’ - which varies a lot based on org. source: I benefitted from internal mobility and think it’s one of this company’s core strengths

May be ask Internally at Bloomberg 😆
Well, I don't want to tell people internally I know that I'm looking for a new job. My dept is a bit gossipy.
No wonder you’re trying to change teams 😂
