How to approach interviewing after starting new job 3 months ago

I started as a PM at a new company 3 months ago, and have pretty much decided this place isn't for me. The organization is highly disorganized, the senior leadership is disrespectful and drives everything top-down, and the work-life balance is pretty awful. I find myself anxious and stressed constantly. I took the role because it offered a ~40% increase in TC, a much stronger brand, and more interesting work, but it's not worth the mental impact for me.

So now I have a relatively recent new job started within the past 3 months, and I'd like to start exploring other opportunities. Would it make sense to include this stint on my resume while interviewing, and explain it as a culture fit? Or would I be better off leaving this off my resume and only addressing the potential 4 month gap when asked?

TC: 250K YOE: 3 in PM, 6 total. #tech #pm

  • Leave it off your resume. It’s totally fine to say you took time off.

The company I'm at now is quite a bit more prestigious than my previous. Even if I was only here 3 months, you think the hit I'd take from having it included but being transparent about my tenure would outweigh the benefits of my proof as someone who can land PM roles at more recognizable companies?

As long as you don’t have a job hopping pattern in your resume you’ll be fine

  • Just do it, the company would let you go in a minute.

In the same boat as OP. I'm choosing to leave my company name on resume and just explain it as a bad fit for me and recognize there isn't a need to tough it out in this market. That's worked fairly well for me so far.

Biggest thing for me (and maybe recruiters) is recognizing how to evaluate this in the future to avoid this situation. Everyone makes mistakes, just got to learn from them. Good luck!

Leave it on the resume and explain the misfit situation. If the company you are interviewing is anything like the misfit, they won’t hire you and save you the headache

Start looking. I was in a similar experience and carefully prepared for the questions as to why leaving. Could take a few months anyways to find something and go through the interview process. See how you feel once you find something you like.

You ended up including the recent role on your resume? I've quit jobs before and explained gaps, but never after having joined for such a short period.
