How to deal with rejections?

Just got rejected by @Shopify Dev degree program after making it to the final round and I feel so bad. To be fair, I think I didn’t do so well in the technical rounds.

I’m coming from a customer service background and it felt so good making it past the application and interview rounds. Getting this rejecting was so devastating lol.

Has anyone else been in this situation or experienced something like this? How did you manage to get over the rejection. #interviews

The more you get rejected the less it’ll hurt, and the stronger you will be (technically and emotionally)

    No other secret.

I am currently in 4 second rounds/virtual onsites

Of those 4 second rounds, I was rejected at least 10 other times

Anyway, my point is you gotta deal with the rejections and keep moving, you only need one offer!

Just because you weren’t selected here doesn’t mean you can’t be successful anywhere else! Most company’s hiring loops (especially FAANG) strives to disqualify good candidates rather then select for them. In theory if a company is good at hiring, all of their candidates that get through the loop should be completely capable of doing the job. That means for every hire, several other good candidates get rejected.

Keep trying, get rejected more, and it’ll sting less and you’ll learn to use it as a tool to harden yourself to this process and improve your skills further. It’s all a game!

I was rejected by Shopify four times before finally getting hired. Keep bettering yourself and try again during the next cycle. I'd also see if your recruiter can share any feedback.
