Joined one of FAANG almost a month ago. Even after a month I feel that there is still a lot to learn for me in terms of stack and internal tools used by the team which is hampering my productivity in some sense. In the past wherever I worked I found myself to be more comfortable with the stack and other practices followed by the team by this time but none of them had their own internal stack at this level. I was wondering how can I evaluate my performance of the first month. TC- 220k
Which FAANG? Why do people always hide this? Is someone really going to identify you at a company with tens of thousands of employees?
He joined Amazon. They expect you to contribute from day1 or get PIPed.
Definitely Amazon. If it was G or F he would have bragged about it explicitly, and anyone at Netflix is too senior to be asking this question
Too soon to tell. Bias towards learning and see where you’re at after three months. That’s about how much time I give new hires on my team to show progress. I don’t expect competence until about month six
