I'm new to startups, only worked for mid-sized public companies (not FAANG). What kinda questions do I ask them to evaluate the risk. I like and believe in the product, already commercialized. Some details - Seattle area - H/W startup - 40-50M total funding - 60 ish employees, has double in last two years, will reach 100 or so in 2020 Also what kinda TC and equity should i expect/ask for. TC: 120K YoE: 10+
Also check the firms and see how many successful exit the firms have and how many of them are hardware.
Acquaint their sponsors and get their valuations
Who are the investors, exit plan, any revenue, then depends on the business models, CAC and the LTV
Bill Gates, two VC firms and some individual I’ve never heard of, but thats probably my bad. What if theres no exit plan and they just plan to grow selling their product?
So then the exit plan would be IPO? If they don’t exit, your stock options will mean nothing.
