It's not difficult at all. 1. LC for 2 months (4 months for total noobs). Think out loud as if you are explaining to someone. 2. Take good and short notes. 3. Do some exercise everyday and get good sleep everyday. 4. Include good mix of veggies and fruits in your diet. Also, stay hydrated. All the above points are EQUALLY important. Treat this as an instruction manual with actionable items. The instructions cannot get simpler than this. All the best! -------x------ PS. If you think I am underplaying the strategy required to get into FAANG, no, I am not. PS2. For few who have asked, for Google-L4, 200 LC is good. 150 M, 50 H. PS3. Regarding System Design - SD is simpler than algorithms and DS. Few youtube lectures are good enough. It is just fitting of components like cache, load-balancer, compute-engine, storage, query-handlers, etc. to match the requirement. #faang #interview #job #tech #sw #hw #diet #health
Thanks for the input.. I think this is the first time somone has mentioned diet and good sleep to get into FANG .. 😃 LC for just 2 months might be a bit too ambitious ? I mean it depends on where the person currently stands with his/her problem solving skills .. some people are naturally gifted at solving problems and some need a lot of practice ..
yea especially for self taught non cs guys, I had to learn it all from scratch. In my case 2 months doesn’t cut it
It is ambitious but definetly possible. In June I knew nothing about LC (managed to go through my whole career without needing it), and started studying. I had to take a full break in August due to real-life problems and resumed my study in Semptember. I cracked FB E5 interview in October. So, all in all, a little bit less than 3 months of LC, totalling 228 problems solved (127 easy, 78 medium and 23 hard). During this time I had a full-time job and also had to prepare for System Design and Behaviorals.
We know that when you want to savor a particular mood or play it to a benign effect, it’s a good post. But factually, a bit more needs to be done.
This is one of the most sober comments to a post ever. 200LC is not enough. I am sure OP spent a lot more time with LC than the 2 months he claims
Step 4 seems hard. How do I motivate myself to eat fruits and veggies everyday? What are the benefits?
HR, closing another resume after a glimpse: say what?
Very similar to what i did. I would like to add, drink more water. At least for me, being well hydrated helps me concentrate.
True buddy. Added to the diet bullet.
What about system design?
How many leetcodes you suggest in 2 months?
500
Roughly 8 a day over two months. Eeeek.
I eat what I want. Even more when i have interviews coming up. I eat kfc before interviews.
If you are in India and want to get into Google specifically then 2 months of LC is nothing. Consider 1.5 - 2 years of grinding the LC and codeforces and even then there won't be any guarantee.
C'mon. It's not that hard if you're smart.
In case of india, it's really that much hard because of the competition. Check out the following post if you want to know more. [Blind] Check out this post!
