How to get into tech security jobs?

Anyone has any advice for me and how I can ace the technical interviews for the security roles? I am thinking of incident response/black team kind of roles. Do I need to do leetcode or is that more relevant for software engineering kind of roles? I don’t want to get into development roles. It will be awesome to get an offer from Google/Facebook/Apple and I’m willing to put in as much effort as possible to get into tech security...

Do I really have to network in the industry? Cause I really don’t like networking but if it gets me into security domain, I guess I don’t have much of a choice. It’s kind of awkward for me to start randomly talking to strangers...

Security meet ups and industry conferences. You meet the right people there, and then go with those leads

Yes, you will need to pass a coding loop (not SWE bar though), everyone does some amount of development. But more important will be security domain knowledge. Check out the job postings, they can be informative. Try talking to the Infosec folks at Uber, probably easier to start there.

Do submissions on bug bounty programs, start with small vulnerabilities and over time as you get better you’ll develop a relationship and start getting in the short list for conferences and events.

Oh that sounds easier than networking for me. Shall try that first!

avoid security at uber unless you want possible jail time/being blacklisted.

Why will uber security employees blacklisted though?

Oh you mean that... I thought it is over... It is not exactly all uber security employees fault though. What if they are not even working at security when this happened? Is it fair to blacklist them too?
