I’ve heard they have terrific benefits. I do have chase sapphire reserve already. So, looking for cards with great travel benefits. Edit: I know I can apply, but my credit score isn’t that great. Like 720 or something. I was thinking if they invite me that’d be great instead of facing a credit denial
You don’t need an invitation. Just apply.
But is it better than Sapphire Reserve?
Depends. It’s better for travel if you fly and use hotels. Lots of nice perks for those. I recently got first class upgrades and got my room upgraded to a suite, which I think was related to Amex Platinum or it could’ve just been luck
I got some other no annual fee Amex card and and received an invite for platinum almost immediately after that. You just need to get on their radar.
What are these benefits that you don't have already with CSR?
I’ve heard there’s better rewards/travel points. As in for same dollar spend, your reward is even more. Don’t have all the details.
Don’t do it cuz you heard it’s better. There’s pretty clear analysis behind these things, look it up before dropping $550 a year on a new card that only works at half the places you go to.
I bet if you waste enough money, they'll get in touch.
the signup bonus is legit. you can get a RT business class flight to tokyo if you transfer MR points to virgin atlantic and take ANA
That’s pretty cool
Not worth it, Chase CSR is better!
Each have strength and weaknesses. Amex Plat is better for airlines, sometimes better for hotels booked through them, concierge is much better, dispute process and customer service.
Yep promotion offer is great. Try calling up to see if they'll give it to you. I got 150k points for signing up Worst case that means I got 1k net best case around 2k net
You don’t need an invite for platinum, just apply.
