New grad here. How can I increase my TC over the next 3-5 years? Ideally would like to get to $250-300K.

Job hop every 1-2 years; interview broadly; interview well; negotiate offers against each other; interview for and take offers that go up in prestige and/or title.

While you’re at your job make sure you do work that’s good for your resume bullet points: cross-functional/cross-team, tangible business value, metrics/data-driven so you can cite percentage improvements.

Any tips on getting interviews? Looks like companies aren't looking to hire Junior Devs anytime soon. Do I just message recruiters on LinkedIn like I did during uni?

Yeah, just realities of the market right now πŸ˜• (especially hard for junior devs) - would try to wait it out if you have a stable job and seek mobility internally if you can, as another poster mentioned.

You can message recruiters on LinkedIn; try targeting more specialized roles if you have specialized experience (something to leverage is trying to transfer to other companies in the same market space); apply to as many roles as possible if you’re set on trying to move now.

  • There's no secret sauce, just keep interviewing and only consider offers that match your comp expectation. If promos are easy at Tableau, try to get one too.
