Hello, I am relatively new to investing. I have been using Robinhood, fidelity etc. to trade individual stocks. But now I want to invest in long term low risk securities. Can someone explain how to invest in index funds? #investments
Robinhood (when it’s working lol)

What’s the best broker to invest with for ETFs? I don’t think op is asking which ETFs.
Are ETFs same as stocks, where your buy will be immediate? Or does it take a few days to buy and you won’t know what price you’ll end up buying it for? That’s the downside of Betterment and it’s annoying that I can’t throw a lot of money in when there is a big dip. My deposit goes into effect a few days later.
ETF are same as stocks; your buy/sell is immediate. That's why you can trade ETF on real time platforms like Etrade,Robinhood etc.

Open a Vanguard account (it's free). Research which index funds you find interesting. There are multiple strategies for buying funds (example: 3 or 2 fund portfolio). Buy the index funds you decide (bonus points for setting up auto buy)

Yea I use Vanguard for long-term investments. I also have a fidelity brokerage acct but after comparing the funds on both platforms I decided to go with Vanguard as their funds have better long term returns and more diversity imo. I only use fidelity for leveraged etfs as most platforms (including vanguard) don’t allow leveraged etfs due to the very high risk profile.
