How to manage a toxic boss and work environment?

Apr 11 7 Comments

My boss seems to hold a personal grudge against me and also screwed up my year end review. Now she is constantly finding faults in my work, quality (when I’m someone who pays attention to detail). I get a feeling they want me out on my own so they don’t have to pay severance. How do I negotiate an out (how much time I need to find a job, etc.). Please help

I used to work at DL and this is really super common, i imagine it’s worse after a lot of talent left during COVID. I’d start looking for jobs and prepping for interviews at lunch/ after work and plan to leave in 4-6 months (depending on your experience and role it may be faster)

Home Depot is a great spot lots of DL people have landed. Better WLB and better culture, of course team dependent. HD is hiring like crazy so def reach out to some recruiters on LinkedIn and apply online.

First start prepping to leave. Then, you do the bare minimum and get revenge by recording everything bad they do and releasing it on your way out.
