How to not feel trapped in an office?

I've visited many big tech companies, even the best office like Airbnb I could never shake off that feeling that I wouldn't last long term? It feels sterile, stifling, and I wonder if you can ever get past that feeling. I think it's to do with the mass amount of people in those large offices. I'm not introverted either and it's not a social thing.

Spruce up your team’s area. Sometimes the company will fund it, other times you do it yourself.

Maybe it's the idea of an office, and not the office?

I think it is. I just can't get rid of this feeling I don't belong. Do you ever feel this way?

Go work for Zappos. Hate to break it, you probably just don’t like work. Best start your own company

So you're saying it's not one of the best companies for design?

As much as Airbnb pisses me off, I have to admit their office design (circa 2014) was the best I ever experienced.

Depending on your field of expertise, you might want to look into Google. From what I've heard, it's a completely different work environment.

Yes. I can either work towards that, or getting my own clients.

Epic Systems has a pretty interesting campus including natural elements but there's a lot of downsides involved with working there, the office itself may not even be causing your issue though.
