Getting through interviews to last round is such a long process ..given boundless expectations for Bay Area positions it is tiring process. I got rejected by Uber, Amazon, Salesforce and few others in last rounds, some were close calls based on feedback. It is not a good feeling how do one overcome this?
i got depressed from rejections too, but what separates great people from the rest is grit and I just focus on that. Hang in there OP your hard work will pay off in the end
I went through this mathematically, it’s about a 20% success rate. Even then it’s luck —- not skill that helped you land the job. So don’t sweat it. Only do these if you have a referral (or two) and you are polished and well trained in acting. Otherwise 80% of the time you’ll always fail. If you aren’t talking about cars, or personal stuff the whole time, you won’t be selected anyhow. Nailing these means you’ve moved past vetting and you’re talking about non-work things.
With grace and move onto the next one.
Learn from each interview and improve step by step. You only need one job and there are thousands of amazing companies out there. I started my search 3 months back and got rejected from first 5 companies 2 month later I had offers from Google Facebook Uber and couple of startups. It was hard no doubt about it but be confident. I can help with mock interviews if that helps you.
