Modi is a legend, will be remembered for centuries to come
I interviewed with G (MTV) Monday and this morning my recruiter told she received all feedbacks; all of them are hire recommendations. Subsequently, this noon, she said my package would appear on Hiring Committee tomorrow (Friday) afternoon. She's also trying to schedule some meetings with hiring managers for team matching. As I have some pending offers she is trying to get an offer ASAP (pending HC approval). She wants to talk numbers right after HC. One of the pending offer TC is 182k with 150 base (NYC). Another offer is SF start up but 140k plus stock options (hard to value them). I am also meeting the CTO of another start up tomorrow to talk numbers. Also, interviewed Facebook (MPK) on Tuesday, no formal feedback as of yet; but probably not 100% positive. Google interview was for SWE L5, but can be L6 (daydreaming) or L4 (hopefully not) based on interview. Facebook didn't specify level. So, how do I talk numbers? Current TC: 111, NY suburbs. 8yoe+MS No big name experience in US. UPDATE: HC approved, they are moving forward with an offer and team matching. The recruiter is asking for numbers. Recruiter misspoke when she said L5 as target, L4 was target and they "probed" for L5. Interview feedback was mostly "strong hire"s and 1-2 "leaning towards hire". Minimal variance. More details in comments.
I highly doubt you'll get L5. No way for L6(agree definitely daydreaming) with low YOE unless you're high level at major competitor like FB MSFT AMZN etc.. You will most likely get L4. Either way, you'll get a TC bump. Try to ask around the 250k-300k TC range(including base bonus RSU) for either Bay area or NYC office.
Target interview was for L5... So why not L5?
Do they have a way of checking what level you were?
Stare at mirror shirtless and flex like hulk. Seriously though theres nothing to prepare for. Be ready to negotiate. Having larger offers is ideal.
FYI it’s easy to value stock options. $0
How’d you know about the strong hire/hire recommendations? Personal gut feeling or did your recruiter tell you?
Asked recruiter about interview feedback and HC recommendations...
Just Curious, what's your final offer/TC and level ?
You are about to get a nice tc boost, congrats.
