I am a Software Engineer at Microsoft. Although I enjoy my work and I am learning a lot but Google has always been my dream company. I want to know how to prepare for Google's interview. I am expecting responses other than leetcode as I want to learn and understand the concepts before doing 500 leetcode questions just for the sake of it. Level - 60 (SDE -1) Base - 136k Location - Sunnyvale
I am worried you may be led down. Not saying google is bad at all but you seem to have high expectations as you didnt give any other reason than just "dream" company. World isn't as black and white as it may seem outside and companies aren't strictly put into layers. Especially because you said you learn a lot.
Thanks for that perspective. Appreciate it.
I am in the same boat as OP. Google is my dream company but I am learning a lot in my current team. So as the commenter suggested, I am holding off on trying so hard to switch to Google. If people refers me I go to interview but otherwise I am not rushing. Maybe one day I will say "okay I think I consumed all the knowledge exist in this team" then I try hard to go to Google.
Actually do some practice interviews with friends and review some system design. For googliness just stay positive and prepare answers to some behavioral questions
Microsoft lowballed you very badly
Thank you for trying to make me feel bad but my question was totally different from your response 🙂 but thanks for your opinion 🙂
You said it yourself in your post. "Understand the concepts" and then do 500 leetcode problems.
Why only base? We need TC
Yeah this is the first step to success op
