Love to hear creative ideas to prevent artificial heavy traffic sent by Google Map, Uber and Lyft. Many speed, dont stop at stop signs and almost run into kids from the school on the block. I heard some cities sent fake accident reports to Waze to hack the algorithm. How many fake reports would stop the traffic?
Google has it's ways of detecting a true issue and just people lying. Uber and Lyft just follow Google maps.
Isn't Uber planning to switch soon? They acquired MapBox to build their own solution and remove dependency
Yeah. I had heard about this. But that doesn't seem to be happening.
Buy 1000 phones, turn on the gps and leave them all over the neighborhood. Maps will think there's a traffic jam and use other routes. PS: I don't work in maps. Just a reasonable guess.
Go to open street maps, put in a gate on your street. I did. And it helped. On the plus side there actually is a gate on my street.
Advocate for lower speed limit to your local authorities if you really think that it is a security concern. Speed bump in front pf the school crossings and so on.
Complaint to local official is made. However, we aren't likely to get a traffic light or speed bump due to a fire station in two blocks. Google's algorithm prefers our street in quiet neighborhood vs. major through roads a few blocks away.
Gated community like a good liberal.
If you are truly concerned for the safety then give official complain to local police. Other ideas won’t work everyday.
