How to switch from graphic design to UI/UX / front end dev? (Resume attached)
Hello,
Thanks for taking the time to read my post. I'm currently a graphic designer who graduated from university with first-class honors in digital design through an apprenticeship in the UK. I'm still working at the same place where I got my apprenticeship, it's a small marketing agency and I don't feel like I'm progressing at all, we only work with small businesses and I feel the value of the work I produce is beyond my salary and I could likely get a job at an established design agency.
However, over the last year, I have been considering taking a different route instead by trying to enter the tech space and become a UI/UX designer or a front-end developer. I have completed many online coding courses over the last year in web development, Google's UX design course, as well as taking a full-stack web Bootcamp at a university.
I have also been creating concept side projects such as a cloud hosting platform for small and large businesses.
Does anyone mind taking a look at my resume and giving me some tips / advice to be able to enter the tech space, and if my resume would be attractive to employers?
TC - 23k
Thanks!

That said, resume only goes so far, you need to show work that demonstrates you understand user centered design. I shifted from marketing design into UX about 3 years ago and did it by getting freelance work and doing personal projects that involved research, design, testing, and iteration.
While it’s not ideal, for a first role look at jobs that might be more UI or a hybrid of visual design and UX. Getting that first job is tough but it gets far easier with a couple years of job experience under your belt.
Hope that helps!
