Hey how are you guys doing? This is my first post here so please excuse my lack of proficiency writing this post.
I am 21 years old with no college degree working as an account manager for a year. I really want to join operations as a manager but was wondering the best ways to do it.
Should I go back to college? If so what should I study. Certification? Any advice I would find incredibly helpful. Thank you so much.

I’d say a college degree isn’t required, but it helps push your resume through for review. The tough part is just getting that first interview. After that you need to be able to demonstrate that you can lead projects and have identified/improved operational inefficiencies in your work. A few project management courses on your resume wouldn’t hurt either.
If you really need to switch companies, I’d go for a startup ops associate level role. I made a similar leap several years ago, and it’s tricky but you just have to stick with it and believe in yourself!
Would a CAPM or PMP certification also be useful?
