How to work with a super arrogant manager ?
Background: I'm a consultant at Microsoft, so I'm not a FTE. But i have been singlehandedly managing 3 projects, and i often do code reviews for FTE Senior DS, and DS in the team.
I'm responsible not just for DE part but also the ML part, and I'm totally cool with that. But my manager is an insanely arrogant person.
1. Often I have to wait for 5+ hours for him to reply to my messages/emails.
2. He's always like "i have been doing this, that for the past 20 years", and never, never takes anyone's opinion seriously (not just me)
3. Always shows that he is the best and knows the most. I have seen arrogant people, but he's just the worst.
4. I know I'm not a FTE, but man, he discriminates. He talks about discrimination in American society, and forgets how he discriminates others.
5. Never appreciates anyone's work. I have worked above and beyond to make sure the work is getting done on time, but he never even once says something positive.
6. There are other DS in the team, and when I see their knowledge base, it shocks me that how these people were offered DS positions at Microsoft. I was laid off because of mass layoffs from my previous job so had to take this consulting job at Microsoft, but I regret.
7. And he will not stop arguing unless people agree with him.
I'm already 4 months in the job, and just waiting to hit 1 year mark, and I'll switch to some other company. My manager was talking to someone about converting me to FTE, but I really don't want to work under this manager.
