I keep seeing posts asking for referrals or from people looking for jobs. And no one seems to provide any salient info that might hint at how good they are at their work. I would personally never refer someone without having a sense of their competence level because I think it would be a hit to my reputation as a professional if I referred someone and they turned out to be garbage, or worse -- insane and a liability. Have you found a job via Blind? Have you referred someone and had a good experience?
Just got an offer via a Blind referral
Nice!
Nice where ?
Asking for Referrals help if you have some credible experience. No ones gonna help a no-name new grad with referrals, but someone with a good name on the company and few years experience under the belt should be in a good position to benefit from asking for referrals
I have referred couple of people on Blind & received a referral myself. I ask for their resume & the job they are interested in, & check whether there's any correlation between the requirements & their experience, & if their background would pass a recruiter review before referring.

Enraged that kids prefer KPop to Bollywood. Installed cams in their rooms.
No. And why would you trust an "anonymous" app for this purpose anyway? Blind is good for very few things, and making real world connections is not one of them...
And yet, so many posts asking for referrals. Just wondering if anything ever comes of those.
