How'd you spend $9000 per month salary in the Seattle area?

I will be getting $9000+ in hand per month after tax in Seattle and I stay in the Maple Leaf neighbourhood for now. I am on visa and wish to save and invest aggresively. Can people please give me some lifestyle advice for saving and investing in the US? Thanks in advance! :)

How does 140k translate to 9k?

Is this after maxing out your 401(k) contribution?

No, Before my 401(k)

If your employer contributes, most definitely max out contributing to your 401(k) bc if not that’s just free money you’re throwing away. Next, definitely budget out what you actually spend a month then save rainy day funds if you don’t already have one for 6 months - 1 year of your expenses. Once you get there, most definitely talk to an actual Financial Advisor who can give more specific advice to you

If TC is 140, is he/she eligible for Roth IRA?

If you make too much $$$$$$$, you can use "backdoor roth ira" - google it.

With TC 140k, how can you save 9k per month???? That's like 108k savings per year 🤔

Calculate after 401k so you know net Mix of stocks, etfs and funds are what I do, looking for strong cashflows and growth mainly. To maximize saving eat at home, and only buy what you need, not what you want.

Max out your 401k for starters. Second if you are new to States, you will soon find out $9000 is not your saving. After rent, electricity grocery etc it will come down to $ 4500 at least
