Hey Blind community,
Question from a noob to the Greater Seattle area:
I’ve been house hunting (for a primary residence), looking all over from Seattle Magnolia to Kirkland, Redmond, Sammamish and Issaquah Highlands… Recently drove through 98006, liked the views and overall vibe; seemed like a nice and quiet community with some parks, sidewalks, etc.
Can folks who live or lived there share their experiences please? Is this a good place to live? Would you recommend it? Why? Why not?
I have kids, so good schools would be a plus. Newport High seems great, but elementary and middle seem like a bit of a hit and miss, depending on where in 98006 (e.g. Eastgate Elementary, Tillicum Middle don’t seem to be highly rated). I’d appreciate any insight from those of you who have/had kids going to the public schools in this area.
I also wonder about commute from there… While it seems close to the freeway, not sure how easy it is to get let’s say to Downtown Seattle or Kirkland from there.

Fuck you. 😎
Somerset and Tyee are great, but it’s not like the friends I had from Eastgate/Tilicum/etc are worse off in life on a family-adjusted basis.
Commute into Seattle I did for a bit via bus from Eastgate P&R. Driving into Seattle or Kirkland sounds miserable, but I haven’t tried it recently.
