How's State Street?

Any designers or developers here work at State Street in the downtown Boston office? How is the culture, WLB, comp, etc.?

I joined State Street straight out of college and worked there for 3 years. They are the kings of hiring from Indian body shops and churning talent. As a full time the vibe is a lot nicer but you are explicitly told not to treat the contractors like they are on your level, while being the only SS employee in a team of contractors. I will say if you want to just coast and take it easy State Street doesn't really fire you as long as you do the bare minimum of mostly basic programming. Towards the end of my tenure I would WFH until someone noticed and then come in until they forgot. As for comp is was ok for a fresh grad but unless you can move up the corporate ladder dont expect much.

This is helpful. Thanks! Do they churn through contractors too, especially if there are teams of mostly contractors? What were your hours like?
