It varies and is dependent on your engagement and your engagement manager. Most people I know spend a week onsite (M-Th) and a week at home. The week at home can really make up for being gone, but you also have lots of other work travel that is not for the customer that can possibly stack up. Throw in training and certification classes, conferences, interview loops, and other AWS travel on top of that customer travel schedule and you might find yourself on the road more nights than at home. Depending on your home situation this can be amazing or terrible, it really depends on your life stage and how well you like air travel.
