Is it passed? Doesn’t affect me since I already GCed but I think it’s unfair that India people wait forever
It’s fair. Say thank you to TATA and other Indian companies bringing low skilled force and packing the queue. It will be unfair if this line moves faster and other nationals have to wait more. Hr392 won’t fix anything since the cap per country not more than 25%. Cheers.
Yes, all Indians should be punished because of what Tata is doing. I bet you loved Trump's Muslim ban as well, didn't you?
It's dead
Nothing will change until 150 years later when the Indian queue cleans itself; if the queue does not, then wait for another 300 years with an exponential back-off retry policy
I’m not sure why people (read Indians) support this, it gives a marginal improvement for Indians but totally fucks over *everyone* else. You’re basically setting yourself up for some old school hate from the other immigrants, why not just lobby the overall number of GC increase? It’s pretty selfish to ask for the quota to go away keeping the overall ceiling and it’s a band aid since it will overflow again at some point. Your service companies fucked over the H1B for everyone and now you want to fuck over the GC system for everyone? And selling this as some “fairness”? I’m all for allowing Indians to get green cards asap but by - Stopping the service companies’ abuse - Increasing the overall GC count We all want to H1B and GC to work, but for everyone, without fucking anyone over. Fellow immigrant.
There’s no any problems with current system. The problem is Indian companies sending low skilled engineers here. We need to get read of useless people ready to work for 70k and giving back 30% to body shops.
I have absolutely no connection to nor influence over what Tata or other consulting companies are doing. I don't deserve to be punished for what other people from my country have done. This is the kind of idiotic logic that led to Japanese internment camps. It's inedibly selfish to expect that you should get your green card before me, even though we're equally qualified, and I've been waiting longer than you. I'm all in favor of reforming the h1b/gc system to punish abusers and increase the cap. I'm also in favor of hr392 because it's lot easier to get passed and makes the system more fair. If you don't like it because you're a selfish prick who feels entitled to jump the line, at least own up to it.
Pretty sure it's just too please and bunch of Indians and Chinese.
The government shut down, so a whole bunch of immigration bills are suspended. The Ireland E-3 bill (making it easy for Irish to come here, similar to Australians) is also not gonna happen this year, even though it also has wide support.
Nothing happened it’s different than introducing a bill and the bill finally getting into effect
