Hubspot front end role

I am interested in the web developer role at Hubspot. What is the difference between frontend software engineer and web developer at hubspot? Do they get paid the same?

I'm a backend developer. The frontend developers work primarily on the UI of whatever product their team owns. The backend engineers work on the service itself, this includes developing the APIs, managing the datastores, communicating with other services, etc. The UI typically calls the backend service so you'll work directly with your backend team on features as well as with your designer. I don't know for sure, but there are rumors that backend engineers get paid slightly more. I can't confirm because I work mainly with backend engineers. Backend engineers also have an on-call rotation and frontend folks don't.

Frontend engineers do generally have on-call, although itโ€™s for the projects we own (frontend) so itโ€™s decently unlikely weโ€™ll get a page outside hours.

Previous comment is correct, web developer is part of marketing org and likely pays ๐Ÿฅœ

Frontend SWE should be part of the actual engineering org

Web developer I believe is working with marketing on websites for hubspots brands. Front end software engineer would be working in the product and engineering organization, either on the product or platform UIs. I imagine that frontend software engineer pays better, but I donโ€™t know.
