Wow, where do I start? I moved to the US in 2019 and I graduated with my master's. I got a mediocre job that paid $75k in base and TC $85k. I started using blind a year ago and I knew the limit. I didn't even own a car because I wanted to pay off my student debt. I wanted to move into Product Management and I started interviewing in August and interviewed with over 25 companies. The first call from Amazon was for a Program Manager role and although the interview was not bad, I was rejected for the role after 6 rounds. I did on-site interviews with Yahoo, HBO Max, American Express, JP Morgan, Workday, and EY. I could only get the EY and JP Morgan offers and I was rejected after 1-2 rounds from other companies like Wayfair, Shipt, Chewy, Cornerstone On-Demand, Paylocity, Northwestern Mutual, and Cengage Learning to name a few. I was very frustrated at times but I never stopped preparing and practicing my answers. In November a recruiter from Amazon reached out for a Product Manager role that I had applied to and I began the interview process. I worked very hard to prepare for the interviews and spent the entire Christmas holidays preparing and improving on my mistakes. My interview was a breeze and I enjoyed all the 5 interviews on my on-site. I know that people on Blind hate Amazon but Amazon is a company that provides everyone a chance to prove their worth My TC increased from $85k to $175k and the quality of my life is soon going to improve. I felt god awful with every rejection but I never quit preparing and this is the best feeling ever. Finally, looking at Blind every day kept my motivation high during these 5 months and I just can't believe the money I will be receiving YOE <1 TC: $175k EDIT: Thank you everyone for congratulating me and I am overwhelmed with the response I got. All the best and I have posted my interview prep for Amazon here https://www.teamblind.com/post/eNTvbXEp #tech #interview #productmanager #productmanagement

Congrats! Amazing TC for PM role fresh out of college
Thank you @Microsoft
I’m from a non engineering background, can you quickly elaborate how you secured PM interviews? I want to do the same
Congrats
Thank you
If you dont have anything good to say, don't say it.
Flagged for trolling Microsoft.
Be careful, amazon can be dangerous in some teams, but good luck for your career at "world best employer"

Can you give a break down of the offer you accepted?
Base: 130k Bonus: 40k Stocks: 5K (Year 1)
Congrats! I got my start in product at Amazon too. I’ll always be grateful for the opportunity it gave me to break into tech. Is this a L5 offer? And is it PM or PMT?
How do you manage to get your resume picked for PM role without relevant experience, I am planning the same switch but failing miserably with 3 years of US experience in a related field, not strictly PM. Can I DM you for resume and interview prep?
OP can you share some tips for everyone here as well. Thanks
Hi both, I can create a new post on things that worked for me and what I could have done differently. Feel free to DM me and I will reply in the next couple of days
What was your master's in and did you have any prior experience?
It was in Information Systems
Thank you, good luck with your new role!
