I got a soft offer at my internship but I want to be remote/part-time

I been Interning with a education startup they gave me a soft offer 6 weeks in out of 12 weeks. He also used words like "detrimental" if I left the company, size of 7. I am not a fan of LA but I do like Santa Monicia (their office location). I moved here to do a 3 month and planned on going back to NYC because that is where my friends and professional network are. I likely wouldn't be 100% engineering in the beginning, they like my marketing background. I'm currently retraining via a SDE intensive/year long full-time bootcamp (online and mentor meeting combo). I'm somewhat concerned because I'm approaching a milestone in my program where I really just need more time to focus on learning. I'm starting to get into material I've never had exposure too such as back end, data structures, and algorithms. I was going to just do 40x the higher mean of renting a room within walking distance or a short bike ride. I really would rather work remote from NYC and be their first person there. My supervisor seemed somewhat open but wanted me to get him a number of him to stay here. I'm completely anti-car. I am also homesick for all my friends in NYC. I really do miss NYC. TD;LR I need your help to figure out how to shift this to a part time remote job and price it. When I freelanced doing marketing my rate was $40 p/h.
