I have been working at Amazon for almost a year and have been in dev plan(focus) since past 4 months. Last four months has been hell of a scary journey for me. I never knew I was on focus until couple of weeks ago. Till the time I know i am in focus he has been ruthless harsh stubborn and was micromanaging all my tasks. I had many sleepless nights not able to figure out what was wrong with me, I somehow took courage to ask him if I was on focus where he conveyed that I was on focus and he was planning to put me in pip.I some how buckled up my self and tried to work my a$$ of to get a job, by grace I landed into a new job now. But I am so demotivated and completely lost confidence and really scared about the coming job.

      Because while we have 10 post a day where people discuss how they were pipped as a new hire, are getting pipped due to health reasons, or are getting pipped after spending 5 years as a good performer….. the newbies and backfills don’t care.

      The internal amazon folks jump in the new amazon job offer threads and tell them repeatedly to stay away. They literally won’t listen and in 6 months the Idiots are the ones creating pip threads and saying they couldn’t imagine it happening to them.

      It’s a sick cycle, and honestly I’m getting tired of telling these new hires on blind anything because they just think we are the jaded ones….

      PEOPLE THE ENTIRE COMPANY IS IN FLAMES

    Don't get demotivated, Amazon is like that only. Just wish for their share to go down and people leaving Amazon in mass. Then they will realise, till then it's just a hell world

    So you were put on dev plan even before 6 months? I am a new hire as well so not sure if they should be doing that so soon but looks like a ‘hire to fire’ setup. Did they have enough data points? Were any hints given about dev plan?
    This is sounding strange to me.
    Happy that you found another job.
