Note that I don’t own a car.
If it fits in your budget it's fine. If it doesn't fit in your budget it's too much.
Also depends on where you live. Here in Seattle average cost of car ownership is $700 a month which is less than you’re paying for rideshare.
Get a bike bro
That’s $600 a month, which could be used to finance a decent car, pay for insurance, and also pay for gas
Parking spot alone is half that in SF or NYC
Considering a nice car can easily be $600 a month just for the payment not counting maintenance, insurance, etc. I think you came out just fine.
This comes down more to the opportunity cost I think. You could definitely pay for everything for your own car with that money per month, but you would lose out on that block of time where you don't have to focus on everything and you can just zone out and enjoy the ride.
Nah! Spend more!
If you can afford it comfortably then it is fine
When looking at the cost of parking, gas, insurance, maintenance, registration, $20 a day isn’t bad. Especially if you don’t Uber much on the weekends.
That's not a cheap commute.
At the standard $.56 a mile rate for a normal sedan (gas, maintenance, insurance, depreciation, parking), that's about a 20 mile one way commute, which I'm sure plenty of people do.
$.56 a mile? Are you driving a Lamborghini
