I work at Microsoft. Our team uses TypeScript. It’s a fine language. But lately, I’ve developed an infatuation with the Swift programming language. I love reading the language docs. Now I just want to code in Swift every day. Is there a Microsoft team that uses Swift? I love Microsoft too (especially our stock), and I don’t want to leave, but this urge has gotten me wanting to apply at Apple. #swift
Infatuations decay with time pretty quickly, just wait it out
Thanks, but this has been going on for months.
Then it’s obsession. Switch to Apple universe
Probably iOS apps, outlook?
I kind of want to work in API development. Maybe make Swift apis for azure services?
Maybe. But afaik even Apple don’t use Swift extensively on server side. A lot of its feature was designed to fit into the existing foundation framework, which is designed for client side applications.
Teach yourself iOS programming in your spare time so you can switch to iOS apps team at Microsoft or get a job at Apple or some other company.
My team is based in Boston and only uses Swift
Can you name the team? Do they do remote?
Intredasting. Tell me more
Msft has a bunch of iOS apps, of course they have swift developers - and entire swift teams I bet for things like iOS office.
Xbox has some ios apps. I've worked on a few. Reach out to the leads of the teams that build them. This is really just networking 101 shit. If you want this then go do the legwork. Post your TC, get off blind, and network.
TC 200K.
