Don't know what to make of it ? What's the significance of this merger ?? http://www.businessinsider.com/ibm-is-reportedly-nearing-a-deal-to-acquire-redhat-the-software-company-valued-at-20-billion-2018-10
IBM have been investing in and having a close working relationship with Red Hat for years. Think of this as them finally putting a ring on it.
Internally people are not happy. A few x-IBMers came on board with Red Hat due to the toxic environment inside IBM. They are saying pretty much the same thing as CowsRfuzzy. This is a huge cultural mismatch. LinkedIn recruiters are licking their chops now, I’m sure.
Is IBM as horrible as the stories say? Can someone elaborate I’m curious as they’ve seemed to manage to stay around longer than other contemporaries, 2000s contemporaries, they must be doing something right. I remember working with aix mainframe in my early days that thing was sturdy!!!! Other than that the new stuff like mq messenger was shit.
I love IBM tell you the truth. It's not as bad as everyone says here on blind. DM me any questions .
Same here. You have to be in it for the long haul, like B2B selling and want to deal with marquee clients everyday. It doesn’t suck.
Death to Red Hat for sure
RIP RedHat
Wish it was Google or MS...
I think IBM and Redhat need each other as business organizations. It is not about whom you as an employee would like to work for.
IBM will do what they ALWAY do - 1.) Buy the company for the patents and intellectual property. 2.) Gut it and lay off all but a skeleton crew. 3.) Let a once successful small company die off in some corner of big blue. IBM is where innovation goes to die in darkness.
Okay I see
Are you copy pasting this cos, I just remember liking this comment elsewhere. I'm gonna like it anyways
