I have offers from IBM and COSTCO. They are right about the same TC. Just want to know which will be better in term of learning. IBM is taking some time in visa transfers and costco is saying they will file for permanent residency only in EB3 category. Ibm- 140k+ 5k joining Costco: 140k + free membership

Do you get discounted gas prices at Costco? If yes, it’s a no-brainer
No, just giving executive membership
What perks for both offer
Where is that? Bay area?
No, Illinois for both..
Take Costco and keep looking for better offers as both seem to be bad
Bad in terms of TC ? Or smthng else?
What is good in these offers? Perhaps it is better than what you have. 1. These companies are not great 2. No equity 3. Seems like worse visa/gc processing . You want to be working for good tech product companies - not retail or dead tech
Costco. IBM is sinking…
Some teams in Costco are better in terms of moving the needle. I don’t know the culture in Chicago though as I have not worked there. Engineering roles in general are better from growth and compensation. However logistics teams can be chaotic and reactive than product teams.
I won't say take IBM but will say there is a plethora of paid for certifications and free expert curated learning resources. Don't know what costco has to offer so will defer to others for that
Tc and yoe or gtfo
Base 140 for both, yoe 10
Hmm close call. I think ibm would look slightly better on a resume. Personally I like the idea of working at Costco more than ibm. No real reason why
