What companies have great signon bonuses? Does FB give 100k even for lateral hires like got new grads? Airbnb was offering me 50k when I was a new grad . Google only offered 25k.
How likely do you think your plans of going back in 2-3 years is to materialize. In the decade I’ve been in the us, I’ve seen exactly one person go back. Almost everybody has said they would like to in “a few years”. 😂
True dat.
Personally I don’t really want to go back in just 2-3 years. However, the family pressure to come back is big.

Yes FB do have great sign ons. A friend got like 75k at e4, Another got around 60k, I'm sure if you do well and negotiate you can do better. If you want to go back, optimize on maybe having a job which gives you the flexibility of moving there and back, probably ? Probably sticking with big G is better, they'll let you keep your current stock grant (refreshers would be different). Better than starting a new job. Fb doesn't have an office in India.
I was thinking about it. I also see the other options though- 1. Moving to different company and coming back to G before I move to India. 2. Even if I don’t come to G, I can give it a try after I move to India. Only fear is that whether I will get google offer again :(
Moving out of G and coming back is something I'm debating too, coz I'm underpaid and underleved. Again, not 100% sure if I'll make it, but I am more confident than the first time about the bar being lowered significantly 😂 Anyway, sticking with G is good in case you might not like it back in India and want to move back. And it's usually recommend to stick with a team for a year or more before changing teams, so you'll have to work out your timelines, but sounds doable. Move out now, 2 years somewhere else, move back, 1 year with a team and then India. (Give or take 6 months).
