If you care about privacy get a Huawei phone

You are handing your trust to a 3rd party that is practically impossible to subpoena, that US has no jurisdiction over, and have no mutual extradition treaties. That’s the real reason why The Deep State will brainwash the masses to think Huawei and ZTE are not to be trusted and are more evil than Facebook, Google, or even Apple. The only freedom consumers have is choosing a company that has practically zero power over you since all parties are guilty. Snowden proves The Deep State is the worlds biggest spy. Huawei only exists to counter Cisco and Qualcomm which is practically an extension of The Deep State.

You’re assuming Huawei phones are secure from malicious attacks other than from China. I believe that assumption is very much false. Plus using security vulnerabilities, sans cooperation from the manufacturer, is a very common way for NSA etc to spy on people.

That’s a fair point. Although, If the FS encryption keys are stored in another country. OS cannot be specially built to extract data. It will be practically impossible without a backdoor or vulnerability to gain access. Note that Huawei make their own chips and soon their own OS. With everything not in English and no toolchain to begin investigations, good luck.

Hello deep state. They got your software backdoored and emergency subpoena hotlines to the CEO directly.

Google G-7 Jan 8, 2019

Okay.. your post reeks of ignorance. But, it does spark an interesting point: Are we better off trusting our private data to a US company that probably* won’t share it with US government? Or are we better off trusting our data to a hostile country that will for sure go through it.. but won’t ever share it with US intelligence?

I don’t claim to be a security expert. You’re right about my intentions of bringing on this discussion of the ulterior motives of the deep state left which is conveniently left out of the media and press releases.

> I don’t claim to be a security expert. That’s good, because you’re clearly fucking not.

Snowden proves we have better hackers and infrastructure. It’s goes both ways and there’s incompetence all around any large organization. My guess is China has billions of their own people to oppress than to worry about a small fraction they have no legal control over

Didn't China steal a boatload of social security data? If you think they won't use it when push comes to shove then I have bad news for you.

At least they don't rob you or break you car window.

My data was among those exposed during that government employee hack (targeting Office of Personnel Management). They spend billions of dollars pretending to make all those agencies secure already. OPM couldn’t even implement 2FA authentication despite 6 years of warnings (read the congressional investigation report). Government spending is not an “either/or” consideration. It’s an unaccountable bottomless pit of waste fraud and abuse out of which a $5b wall fund would make no discernible difference. Don’t worry, we’re not going to build it, and even if we did, brown people would still be coming here illegally, further stressing the economy and overspending. “Lol fuck American citizens who lose their jobs bc TRUMP ORANG LOLO #resist” great

If your threat modeling is this bad I really hope you don’t write code that goes into our products. If you do, please find some security knowledgeable folks somewhere around you and start learning some more about how things work in practice. I understand how you could think this makes sense, but there’s just so much that doesn’t work like you think it does. Please, get yourself on the path towards learning more before writing more code. :)

Ah yes. Huawei’s famous bug free version of android OS. Are you feeling alright? You seem rather angry.
