I’m a long time, previously-loyal Amazon user for 20 years. I love Amazon. I have been a prime member since the beginning. But these days, the prices are terrible, if not blatant lies. I’ve started to price compare for the first time in 10 years, because almost everything I’m finding cheaper elsewhere. Home tools? Home Depot is cheaper. Household items? Walmart or Target. Electronics? Often Best Buy or NewEgg. Do other people find the same thing? I went to buy a game for the Nintendo Switch and couldn’t find a price lower than $75 and I didn’t understand why amazon didn’t have it, only some other 3rd party sellers who were trying to rip me off. Meanwhile I went to BestBuy and found it in stock for $60 but then I checked Walmart and it was $45. So now, I’m going to be checking Walmart, something I never would have done last year.
What you described was a method to get things cheaper than Walmart a decade ago. Overall things are cheaper at Walmart, but you can find places that beat their prices aisle by aisle. People have started noticing Amazon doesn't have the best prices anymore, even eBay beats it by a dollar or two for items I searched for.
I think once people needed to pay sales tax, the cost advantage disappeared.
Yep, just canceled my prime membership this year after a decade. Once they moved to drop shipping it seemed to fall apart sadly.
What % of your purchases have been affected by drop shipping? Are you buying building materials all the time?
Feels like nothing on amazon is sold by Amazon anymore. I used to buy 95% amazon only forever. Now it feels like 95% are marketplace drop shippers. Amazon customer service is still phenomenal but not worth the hassle anymore especially when everyone from target, walmart, costco etc sell quality good with for 2 day.
Amazon isn’t designed to be cheaper, it’s the convenience
Prime is no longer 2 day shipping, either 😒
On what?
So many times it says 2 day, but arrives in 3
When they are fucking the merchants/small businesses that sell it for 25%+ what do you expect? amazon is greedy af
Is Amazon the only corporate retail that made small business bankrupt? They cannot survive the competitive environment dominated by Target, Walmart, Amazon, Macy’s etc. Blaming Amazon is weird. Why not blame capitalism?
Wow! Amazon wants to make some money and is optimizing to do so, unheard of!
You guys are clown funny. Show examples.
Ok... This product cost me 6$ in store... Amazon it's 12$ 5-gal. Homer Bucket HMD https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GETA5J6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_UNp-BbYT7C4D4
Amazon is not only a “sold by Amazon” place but harbors a broader mind to allow all quality sellers and manufacturers to provide products to customers. Home Depot will never allow Amazon to directly stock or sell HD’s private brands on Amazon. But since customers want that product, Amazon allows the sellers to list the product for interested customers. Amazon does not control the sellers’ pricing though Amazon advises sellers to price fair, ship fast and ensure good quality. For that specific product, you should definitely go to HD unless you want to buy a brand one other than an HD generic one.
Now a days Amazon is my last option, not sure any one have noticed about there return policy.
I think their return policy is awesome. Very convenient. However I have heard if your return too often you will get dropped.
Could be if you are abusing the convenience that Amazon offers on returns. Amazon shoulders the social responsibility of correcting immoral behaviors.
Time to buy Walmart stocks.
I did just now, Black Friday shopping

I always compared Amazon to a drug dealer. Hook them with cheap/free and when you have them in your hand, jack up the price.
Have you ever bought drugs before? That isn’t how it works ime
^ok, pablo.
