One if my friends from UK is interviewing for a designer role at Facebook (Menlo Park). She is in California on work Visa. However prior to setting up the interview with hiring manager they asked her to fill a questionnaire regarding I-140 status, years left on H1-B etc. Don’t usually companies ask such questions once they decide to make an offer. She has interviewed for other companies too but never got so much scrutiny regarding immigration. Is that something Facebook does for all interviews nowadays?
They probably don't want to waste recruiting resources on someone who has high chances of not being able to work for them. I.e. OPT, last year or similar.
They asked me about visa status before my interview as well.
