Tech recruiters on Blind.

I’ve been negotiating with a few recruiters and cannot fathom why/how do companies get recruiters to be so aggressive about getting a candidate for lower TC or level.

It would be interesting if you could share some of the ways companies incentivize this behavior.

I understand there could be other factors like hiring committee recommendations, hiring manager feeling candidate might be better at lower level, mediocre interview performance, etc.

But I would like to know if everything else was positive are you still encouraged to hire lower/compensate less? And how?

It’s not your money.

two things, first every candidate thinks that they should be at the top of the range and second the recruiters probably are trying to close a role in the midpoint

Career benefits for the recruiter. A recruiter who gets the same talent for less cost to the company is very valuable.

So, are you saying that the company tracks performance and rewards the recruiter if they find a high performing candidate was hired for low/median salary? And that is a factor in promotions for the recruiter?
