Hello, I got a job offer from Indeed as Senior Full Stack Software Engineer. I feel like recruiter is low balling the offer. My year of experience is 3 years. Job title: Senior Fullstack Software Engineer Base: 135K Stock bonus: 56K RSU (Mostly over 4 years) Sign on bonus: 19K TC: 168K for first year, 162K for next 3 years My current total compensation is ($130K + 20% bonus every year) --> $156K I have my promotion as Senior engineer as well in Nordstrom in August Need to get suggestions from blind community regarding negotiating the offer. #engineering #software #indeed
Level?
I would suggest you stay at Nordstrom till you get your senior promotion and then apply elsewhere. That way, you should easily be able to break the 200k barrier or get to 190k atleast. You are getting low balled right now and frankly, jumping companies for such a little pay increase when indeed isn’t some hot startup like robinhood seems more work than it’s worth the tc increase. Good luck! Sincerely, A fellow Nordstrom Intern
Indeed generally prefers to increase the sign on cash before the other two, so asking for more sign on cash will likely be the easiest to get them to agree to.
If you're at Nordstrom, I would guess you're in Seattle? For senior SWE, base should be more like $150-200k. RSUs should be more like 100-200K across 4 years. Sign-on more like 30-80k. TC per year should be more like 200-300k for a senior SWE in Seattle. But then again, Indeed has increasingly been lowballing people as a result of cutting costs. Their TC used to be much higher when they gave out LTIPs. However now they issue Japan RSUs. Japan's stock market on average is nearly half the growth US's, so the expectations for growth should not be that high.
BTW, Indeed just announced new salary bands that are lower. Another cost cutting measure! This company is going down under.
Do you get bonus for the first year? Also what are the stock refreshers for swe2 and swe1?
City??
