Hey Everyone,
I am a SWE having 10+ years of experience. Feeling burnt out these days and want to consider taking a gap year.
Will try starting side business , working on open source projects and travelling in this period just to keep myself busy not planning to achieve anything out of it.
Has somebody from India already done that? How difficult or easy was it for you to get back to work?
I am from tier-2 college and no FAANG like company experience on my resume.

I don't think anyone can give you definite answer for this. You have to decide if the risk is worth taking. If you are financially good then definitely give it serious thought. I had asked one recruiter on how these gap years are looked at when rejoining. He said people don't care about it much if you have good enough reason.
Personally I would suggest go for it. Life is not all about this IT job.
