Good news! Trying Our Best To Save H-1B Visa Rule, Says Sushma Swaraj https://www.ndtv.com/india-news/trying-our-best-to-save-h-1b-visa-rule-says-sushma-swaraj-1858938
Funnily, Canada is pressuring US on expansion of the TN in NAFTA negotiations. It's actually the only major demand that Canada is making. Trump can either have his tariffs or curtail immmigration. He can't have both.
Sure he can have both.
This is ridiculous and will likely backfire
As an Indian immigrant, I think this is the most stupid thing I have heard. Folks who think mrs. Swaraj is going to do something are totally naive. It is better that she doesn't poke her nose here. Besides who is she to dictate terms of immigration in another country? It can only backfire, like what the Salesforce guy above said. Still, we will have bunch of idiots who will tweet her. She will do her PR stunt. And it will only regress the current situation. (Before you pounce on me - no I am not anti modi).
What does pro or anti Modi has to do here?
Because the next thing fanbois will say is 'you are saying this because you are anti modi' 🤦🏽♂️. Will then start a rant 'Look he changed the world.. blah balh blah '... To be clear I am not a modi fanboi nor am I a left liberal.
Why would Trump listen to Indian govt BS on topic? He is doing for his win in next term. Indian politicians did worse promises than this. Having said that we as individuals should call local senators and take it to Trump for reconsideration.
Haha how is this good news? You really think Trump will listen to an Indian minister? This story will go in brietbart and anger his base even more. They'll push even more to revoke it.
US is going backwards. Let India create world class institutions and universities that provide great opportunities for professionals.
Not gonna happen for atleast next 100 years. Looks at the way poor Sidhu is being treated. I have lost all hope in India, just like you sir. That’s why I (maybe you as well) migrated to US with my family.
Wait... Deaf Bezos came to the US with Reddy's family? That's an interesting plot twist.
