I keep seeing rants and venting about this over and again. So hopefully this helps settle things once and for all. To those who complain about Indians and BO: Sweating is a natural process, it’s not an issue that exclusive for Indians alone. Havent you watched that episode of Bad BO on Seinfeld? I understand and sympathize with your troubles though I guarantee you, it’s not a cultural thing. It’s just that some of the new folk from India can be ignorant and most may not know things like antiperspirants which were not available in that part of world until recently. If you know someone who has BO and it’s bothering you, please communicate that to them casually and give your tips. We’re all adults and has to find a way to communicate effectively without throwing insults or hurting others. Most Indians would hear you out and won’t hurl accusations at you. Posting nonsense like these without making an effort doesn’t help you at all. To my Indian brethren: If you’re new to western world, please look up antiperspirants. They work a little different than deodorants and are more effective. I understand your personal hygiene routine was fine before, but it doesn’t hurt to have a little introspection and if need to manscape a bit like shaving have your armpits or learning about using sweatpads under arms and such. Most importantly, the spices we use in cooking have strong odors and waft through your wardrobe and house if you don’t take proper care. Following these steps would help you a lot. 1. Don’t leave clothes out in the open when you cook. 2. Turn on the vent and keep central air and ac off when you cook. This helps those pungent smells not to spread thru house and sticking to your clothes. 3. Use febreeze in your car if you’re a smoker. 4. Use scented oil diffusers like airwick in your house that helps kill strong odors. Hope this helps! Full disclosure: I am Indian
Nice reminders, you missed to add one more import reminder, especially to Indian Women - winter is over Pl stop wearing winter jackets. Husband to tell in their wife’s ears...honey it is hot outside no need to wear these bubble jackets.
Imagine the juice your body secrets under those layers🧥, can you stand that smell...or your husband?
Secretes not secrets
Apparently mis spellings are a first world problem too
This is a very sensitive topic. Most people have a smell. Within a society we get used to certain scents (including body odor). On this part of the planet we are not used to those spices but we shouldn’t be quick to judge. Yes, good hygiene, clean kitchen, daily showers and deodorant are a good start for everyone. Thanks for sharing OP. Some people, including me, wouldn’t know what to say or how to approach someone who smells different.
Good post. By the way: Sweat alone doesn't smell. Sweat plus bacteria does smell.
Another curiosity I noticed. I never use antiperspirants. Just regular deodorant. In fact many days I don’t even need to wear pit stick at all. Even on workout days. However...when I’m stressed out. Dang...stress sweat is stinky.
If you need intros I know an Indian uncle that can help you find someone as well as coach you for free. DM me for his contact info. He specializes in coaching to bring out your personality and confidence.

There should be a FAQ post pinned to the top to avoid variants of 1. Body odor rant 2. Leetcode questions suck rant 3. H1b rfe questions (just pay a fucking lawyer for second opinion) 4. Annoying people not posting TC/yoe 5. Some desperate single people dating rants
You forgot about MSFT folks bitching about pretty much everything
