IG has worse work life balance than other parts of FB, we ship fast and there’s a lot of pressure to deliver. Work life balance scores average low 20% favorable in pulse surveys, my design team had 8% wlb favorability. Almost everything is A/B tested, I don’t know what large Internet company ships without testing. IG overall is more design driven than the rest of FB, so I feel like PM, design, and Eng all have a good balance of power, but it will feel different from team to team. I don’t know what you mean by holistic design, but it will depend largely on the team.

There’s just a lot to do and a lot going on. Also Facebook overall isn’t really known for their work life balance. Everything revolves around performance review cycles where you have to prove your impact. There’s several threads about PSCs at FB here already.
