Senior role in all three. I’m interested in working in the ML infra space. I’m not interested in the TC but work and work environment - eg good team, less politics etc Would like to know the reason in the comments. Will DM to find out more. FB: 350K Flexport: 280K ( haven’t interviewed yet ) Airbnb: 350K
Avoid flexport - I would rank insta and then airbnb. If you are a Ruby on Rails developer who loves monolith and bad culture then flexport is for you. For ML infra - Facebook (Instagram) you cannot go wrong with that . Airbnb regular teams / app development is mostly whet they do , but their Data infra is ok.
Which team at Airbnb? Core ML infra under data platform or ML infra in a business unit? DM me and I can tell you more about politics
I’ve heard all 3 companies have politics, and specifically from their ML infra teams. Instagram is probably most interesting from pure technical standpoint. Airbnb and Flexports problems aren’t big enough to where you can really build sophisticated models.
YOE? Are there more stock options in AirBnB ?
Flexport won’t have datasets large enough to make ML infra work real or interesting imo
Kinda. More infra work than ML work. If you like developing novel solutions at smaller scale it might be interesting. E.g we have problems that are different from traditional ads + marketplace space.
Since when is developing infra at small scale interesting or even a thing? Small scale infra is an oxymoron.
