No.
Hahahhahahahhahahahhahahahahahahha. But, if it means Lisa Su will become CEO of Intel I'm all for it. But, anti-trust issues and what not will prevent something like this from happening.
I guess this time, intel will have to agree to Lisa. Similar thing happened with Jensen, during talks of intel-NVIDIA merger back in the day, when intel turned down Jensen becoming CEO after the merger.
Intel management and the BoD is so dumb. So dumb. BK was from SJSU and we have a VP with only a fashion degree. So dumb.
/r/therewasanattempt to start a rumour
Nobody likes intel culture... so I vote no for the merger(even though my vote is worth shit)
Tbh heard worse stories about amd culture
not possible due to an antitrust concern.
I'm sure Intel would love to buy us, and it would be the right move. However, such a deal would be blocked by virtually any major government on anti trust grounds. It would be vastly anticompetitive and hurt the consumer. It wouldn't even be that expensive: they could probably buy AMD for about 40 billion. Given that it would lock up a monopoly in x86, which has a larger TAM than that annually, it would be a good deal. Obviously I would hate it, for cultural reasons and because lots of people in both companies would likely be considered redundant.
No real benefit to either company except killing competition, which regulatory bodies will not allow
Probably a rumor, however if Google or Apple are getting into the chip manufacturing biz, then wouldn't this potentially solve the antitrust issues?
If any of FAANG companies wanted to get into chip business they would have very good reasons to buy AMD. Intel and AMD have too much in common to benefit from an acquisition.
Can’t picture it unless we simultaneously agreed to license x86 to anyone.
Lol
