Just received an official offer letter from Intel today for SoC Design Engineer - location is Hillsboro, Oregon but HR mentioned that they'll be remote for the time being because of COVID. Base: 95k Bonus: approx 10k RSU: 10k over 3 years The deadline is apparently one week, but HR said they'll ask for 2-3 weeks if possible for making a decision. One or two weeks is such a small time frame to make a decision, also since I'm actively interviewing with other companies as well. Not sure if it's normal so I wanted to ask for advice. Thank you, and especially thanks to everyone who gave advice on my previous post regarding the interview process. #intel #intelcareers EDIT: HR just got back to me and approved an extension until late February, so I have much more flexibility now!
BS or MS new grad?
Low ball Also one week is standard 😅
That looks pretty good for bachelor's to me. Higher than my master's plus 3 years lol
I got this as my masters offer 2 years back! 🤣
This is pretty good for bachelors.
What type of experience did you have for this position? EE?
CompE (digital design with one or two lab courses) with heavy software experience for personal projects and internship
I got more from my new grad BS offer, but granted it’s in CA. I’m not sure the COL for Hillsboro. I’d imagine cheap, but maybe not as fun for a younger new grad
I'm waiting on two Qualcomm final rounds currently - Hillsboro / Portland isn't exactly my type of area since I grew up in the Bay. Don't have to pay tax though so that somewhat helps with CoL.
Do you have competing offers? Offer seems to be on lower side.
First offer I've ever gotten!
If this is for masters, offer is on lower end!
