How difficult are the intel software engineering new grad position full time interviews when compared to FAANG interviews? How should one prepare for it.
Curious which CS school you are from. BS or MS? Top 4? Top 10 CS? Top 25? Top 50?
MS from Top 75 I would say
Thanks. Yeah that's about where we tend to aim our recruitment nowadays. Depends on the group. The AIPG group has the most difficult interviews using codility but still not nearly as hard as FANG.
Why Intel?
Why Safety schools?
Still I remember, fizzbuzz being asked in my interview😂 Not trying to bash them outright, the thing is they don’t build any software so they won’t require top notch engineers, mediocre can pull it of
Who would join intel loool
Join a startup instead. U r gonna ruin ur career
Is Intel THAT bad?
Yep
I'm a SWE at Intel. And take my word for it, i wanted to switch badly right after a month's work. But it took me an year tbh
Once, what really happened was that a teammate got super confused while talking about queue in bfs and stack in dfs. That happened in a meeting of 20 people. No one corrected him cuz they didn't care/didn't knew it themselves. I cursed and felt sorry for short selling myself to that team. P.s it's a team is SWEs
Wow. If they dont even know that concept that means they arent even able to implement dfs and bfs. Ist that like programming 101 material?
Depends on if it's OS or not.
Congrats on the interview! Interviews and the work are very team dependent. The interviews are not as tough as FANG, and the job won’t pay as much as them either. However, it’s still a good place to work. Lots of teams have excellent wlb. Good luck!
Join only if wlb is the 'only' thing you care about. But imma be honest, if you 'only' care about wlb, you arent gonna go far with your career. Apart from wlb, intel does not offer anything eve close to mediocre. Intel's sw teams are sub mediocre
Don't bank on good WLB. Intel PSG has been forcing engineers to work weekends while the managers and their pets show up at noon and go straight to lunch.
No preparation needed. Just turn up for the interview
